Anyone who reads this newsletter and subscribes to our Dividend.com Premium service knows that I am a big believer in taking action to control your own financial destiny. Whether it’s by just reading this newsletter daily, subscribing to our service (or other services), reading books about becoming successful, or other methods, these are all actions that will one day get you to a higher level of success in your financial life.

Some of the best innovators and success stories are people that are self-taught. They took the initiative and dug into a subject that became their passion. Take myself, for example. I took an extreme obsession with the markets back in the mid-90′s and worked hard to develop various trading strategies. I went on to become a successful full-time trader for nearly 13 years, right up to the development and launch of our proprietary DARS (Dividend Advantage Ratings System) program, which become the foundation of our Dividend.com Premium service.

I implore anyone who wants to take charge of their own financial destiny to be relentless in your pursuits. A great line from 16th century English poet John Donne adds a nice touch to what I just discussed:

“Be thine own palace, or the world’s thy jail”
