NEW YORK (CNBC) — Fears that retirement will lead to a drop in one’s standard of living due to insufficient savings isn’t a concern restricted to the middle class, according to the findings of recent survey.

Four in ten affluent Americans say their biggest fear about retirement is they “will do all the right things today and it still won’t be enough for tomorrow” and 9% say they fear they have under saved and won’t recover, according to a poll of 801 affluent Americans conducted by Harris Interactive for Wells Fargo Retirement.

I can't think of a stock that's more hated.

I've written about this company several times before. I've personally owned it for years. But just about every time I mention it, I end up receiving nasty emails admonishing the fact that I would cover… let alone recommend… investors own shares of this company.

In fact, it happens so often that I instruct our staff to put in a mention that this investment isn't for everyone whenever they cover it. If you don't want to invest in this stock, I can certainly understand. But if you have an open mind toward this black sheep, then you're likely to appreciate what it can do for you.

Wait a minute, why would I want to be rich when the Bible says that it’s easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven?  That’s a good question, and the topic of money and riches isn’t brushed over in the Bible (see for yourself with these 250 Bible verses about money).  As Christians, I don’t think we should be afraid of having money – it’s our attitude towards money that we should watch carefully!  The problem with wealth is that we can make it a god in our lives.  That is, we can spend too much time seeking out worldly wealth and forget about being content.

So when we find scriptures in the Bible that point to riches and wealth, we need to be careful how we look at them.   If we look at these verses as a recipe to create worldly wealth, we’re missing the point.  True wealth and riches aren’t found on this earth.  We know this from Matthew 6:19-21 . . .
