Use Intraday Price Levels to Trade Facebook (FB)

It’s Facebook (http://facebook.com) (FB) IPO day! The buzz has been building, now it’s time to play ball. The IPO was priced at $ 38, which values the company at more than $ 100 billion. The stock will almost definitely open for trading higher than that, though, so we will have to gauge prudent levels to get involved. I see it opening up above $ 50, honestly. Below that, and I think it is a buy. I’ll be trading the IPO live on the Virtual Trading Floor(R), and I feel that trading IPOs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initial_public_offering) is one of my biggest strengths as a trader. So if you aren’t a member of the VTF I think this would be a good day to join us! Aside…

If You Are Bearish On the Economy, Then You Need To Own This Stock

If You Are Bearish On the Economy, Then You Need To Own This Stock

Trading is in my blood. I vividly remember, as an elementary school student, trading baseball cards with my classmates. My trading interest blossomed as I learned how to buy low and sell high via various part-time business endeavors. These businesses included selling produce I got for free from my grandparent's garden door-to-door and a real estate publishing/marketing company. This interest led me to major in business/economics in college.

It was here where I learned about the stock and derivative markets. This knowledge set me on a life-long journey into the trading arena of the financial markets. I quickly realized that I was not alone in this pursuit. Everyone is a trader of one sort or another. Some trade their time, knowledge, talents and skills for a steady salary. Others decide to go at it alone by trading their and others abilities directly for monetary compensation via business. Still others decide to take a hands-on approach by directly interacting with the financial markets. No question about it, trading — in one form or another — is the world's oldest profession.

A fascinating twist on the trading game is the pawn shop business. These companies make loans on and purchase items of value from people in need of fast cash. These loans are often at exuberant interest rates, and the prices paid directly for items are way below market value. The business works because the customers are in need of immediate cash, and thus are willing to pay nearly any price for the privilege. As you can imagine, the worse things get economically, the more people there will be that will be forced to pawn their valuables for cash. Therefore, this industry is not only recession-proof, but it's inversely correlated with the economy. So if you are an economic bear, then investing in the pawn shop business is a no-brainer.

These businesses were once relegated to the seedy section of cities and didn't exactly have the best reputation. However, this perception is changing rapidly.

As even the once wealthy are forced to sell items at pawn shops, the status of these once looked-down-upon alternative finance companies grows. In fact, the second most popular reality show of all time, Pawn Stars, is based on a family-owned, Las Vegas-based pawn shop. Even uber-rich enclaves like Palm Beach, Florida, and Beverly Hills, California, have their share of pawn shops.

JPMorgan Could Rebound To $40 By 2013

By Income Hunter:

Unless you have been on another planet for the past few days, you could not have missed reading about the derivatives fiasco at JPMorgan Chase (JPM). Despite extensive coverage, we don’t have a clear understanding of what happened and the ramifications for JPMorgan as well as the banking system as a whole. The bank has disclosed a loss of $ 2 billion on complex derivatives trading strategies that went wrong.

Unlike the trading losses recently at UBS (UBS) and Societe Generale (SCGLY.PK) caused by rogue traders who then manipulated the accounts to hide what they were doing, whatever happened at JPMorgan seems to have happened with the full concurrence of top management, which seemed to have placed too much reliance on their internal controls. In fact, this follows a situation only two years ago when derivative trading went out of control in the bank’ s commodities division – specifically a short

Morgan Stanley Gaining Analyst Favor (Update1)

Morgan Stanley update includes UBS upgrade

NEW YORK (TheStreet) — Morgan Stanleyshares have taken a beating of late, but a pair of analysts got behind the stock on Friday.

UBS analyst Brennan Hawken upgraded Morgan Stanley to “buy” from neutral with a report titled “enough is enough,” and JPMorgan analyst Kian Abouhossein argues the shares look more attractive than those of Goldman Sachs on a short-term basis. Moody’s has said it may lower Morgan Stanley’s credit rating to just one notch above junk. …

Guinness Under the Sea

Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse like a lot of breweries features a tour for those who want to learn more about beer and/ or want to drink in the middle of the day. It runs for around 12 euros and while otherwise being fairly standard (malt hops yeast water) comes with one pretty major perk. At the end of the tour participants get a free beer at the famous Gravity Bar. At seven stories the Gravity Bar sits above its surroundings (FYI Dublin’s tallest building is Google Europe’s (GOOG) 15-storey headquarters) and provides a great panoramic view of the city. And …

GWBU looks ready to run again

Evening my Roachsters!

Guess who is back in the saddle again taking over as your roachman?? Yes, that’s right, the Papa Roach is back in the saddle and will be working each and every day to bring you new stock alerts ranging from $ .0003 to $ 2.00 in price. My job moving forward will be to dig through the shit each night and find a stock worth sinking our teeth into for the following day or for that matter live during the market hours.

As many of you know, the Roach site has been around for many a years digging up the dirt on all these small penny stocks that are trying to make a name for themselves. My job is to call “bullshit” on most of them and just give you the quick run down of what the chart says. Then like savvy ninjas in black jump suites, we will swoop in, buy the turd and then sell it before anyone knows what the hell went down. So I would encourage you to check out the forums each day for any new action ready updates.

For Friday, I have a pumped up pile of crap in GWBU. Yes this is the “AwesomePennyStock” promo flavor of the month right now; or at least we think it is anyway (never know if they are going to pull a fast one on us like they did on RARS and switch symbols on us just as we all load the boat) Looking at the chart it was pretty impressive to see GWBU run all the way back from the days low of 1.37 to close the day at 1.58. Heck, the high of day was just one penny higher at 1.59, so me thinks this pig could get wings tomorrow and test 1.70 anyway and if she wants to play dirty with me then maybe 1.80. Remember though, we don’t marry these stocks, we just take them to dinner and then send them on their way.

There you have it you savvy investor, put GWBU on your level 2 tomorrow morning and then lets scalp it like there is no tomorrow.

Wall Street Is Having a Dividend Party

Over the past few years, corporate America has generated trillions of dollars in excess cash and parked that money in the bank (or, at the very least, Treasury bonds and other cash equivalents).  Companies ranging from technology giants to conglomerates have hoarded their liquidity, terrified of a repeat of the Great Recession of 2008.

Lately, it seems like every Board of Directors on Wall Street has finally decided to finally release some of the coins that have been piling up in the treasury.  How are they doing it?  By announcing large dividend increases.  Johnson & Johnson announced its 50th consecutive annual dividend increase, bumping the payout to investors by 7%.  ExxonMobil recently announced a staggering quarterly dividend increase of 21%, making for a rich payday if you happen to hold a considerable amount of the oil and natural gas giant’s shares.  Chevron announced an 11% rise in its dividend.  IBM raised its quarterly dividend by 13%.  The list goes on and on … it is a dividend party and stockholders who were buying during the crash that reached a bottom in March of 2009 are reaping the benefits.

If your focus is on passive income with a specialty in dividend stocks, the first four months of the year have been off to a great start.
